Hi there, I'm Abhi Naglapura!

I'm a Mechatronic Engineering student at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) with a passion for aerospace, rocketry, and robotics. I have a lot of hands-on experience with various controllers such as an ESP32 and Raspberry Pi, to name a few, and I’m currently working on building a full scale, fully functional R2-D2. I also enjoy looking into RF with my amateur radio license and exploring satellite frequencies. As a volunteer staff with the Australian Air Force Cadets, I also help mentor young cadets in leadership and aviation skills, and as a private tutor at Alchemy Tuition, I've helped students excel in subjects such as maths and science.

I’m very excited about the growing space industry in Australia, with an aim to work on rocket and aircraft propulsion systems. As such, I’m eager to bring my technical skills and passion for all things aeronatical to the aerospace field!

Professional Experience

Alchemy Tuition - Private Tutor

As a private tutor at Alchemy Tuition, I provide personalized one-on-one lessons tailored to each student’s learning style and goals. I specialize in mathematics, science, and engineering concepts, helping students build confidence and master challenging topics.

Through engaging lessons and hands-on problem-solving, I foster a deep understanding and a passion for learning.

Australian Air Force Cadets - Volunteer Staff

As a volunteer staff member at the Australian Air Force Cadets, I mentor and train cadets in leadership, aviation, and discipline.

As the squadron’s Supply Officer (SSO), I managed all equipment and uniform inventory, including tracking supplies, coordinating orders, and distributing uniforms to cadets. My role combined logistical management with hands-on training, ensuring the squadron ran smoothly while supporting cadets’ professional and practical development.

Leadership

Australian Air Force Cadets

Leading and mentoring cadets in various capacities, including aviation, teamwork, and discipline. Organized and conducted training sessions to develop leadership skills in young cadets.

Launch Officer

Responsible for overseeing aspects of rocket launches, including the safe handling and setup of the motor box and black powder ignition system. Coordinated launch operations, ensured adherence to safety protocols, and led the launch team to execute successful flights. Developed team communication and problem-solving skills under high-pressure situations.

Project/Technical Lead

Led technical development, subsystem integration, and performance modelling for the full rocket system, while managing master OpenRocket simulations and key propulsion-structure interfaces. Also supported project planning through feasibility reviews, technical guidance, and risk assessment.
